Cleaning out.

It's that time again. Every several months, I'll donate some clothes, shoes, etc to those who need it. So today, while putting my clothes away, I noticed a good amount of clothes I don't wear anymore and some I shouldn't wear anymore. So I'm getting rid of my short skirts and short shorts. I'm getting rid of them because of who I am. I've gained some weight since I've purchased these so they don't fit the way they used to. That and someone who's nearing thirty probably shouldn't be wearing these anymore either. I'm also getting rid of clothes that are clearly out of style.. and pants or shirts that have somehow gotten too big for me. I'm just going to get rid of all the clothes I don't even wear anymore or haven't worn in ages. If I've gone this long without wearing them, it probably means I won't be wearing them at all. Plus I'm sure I can part with a few of my 20+ wintercoats. (It's like an addiction that for the past few years, I have to buy like one or two every winter. =T) I'll donate all these, including shoes and sneakers and bags, so that others can put them to better use.

Along with that, I'm deleting numbers off my phone and screen names off my buddy list. It's time to clean out the phone and rid of people who don't matter to me, and shouldn't matter to me.

whoops!

i was watching "88 Minutes" in my room last night and the kids sat down next to me and started to watch too. through many parts of the movie, i told them not to watch or listen because there were some pretty vulgar and gruesome scenes. so eventually.. they left my room since they couldn't watch most of the movie. after they returned to my room from doing whatever, i was already onto the next movie. i was now watching "Maid of Honor" instead.. thinking that this would be more appropriate. so a few minutes into the time of them returning to my room, Patrick Dempsey's father says to him, "go get her, you pussy!" annnnd next thing i know, Jaime's constantly repeating the word "pussy." saying what it sounds like and what it rhymes with. =T but at least she didn't know the meaning of it.. =T

whoops! should've called for the earmuffs.

the end of Salad Week.

Thursday: Saladworks' Bently Salad -blend of hearthstone baked ham, roasted turkey and italian provolone with lettuce mix, chopped eggs and tomatoes in balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Friday: Cheesecake Factory's Barbeque Ranch Chicken Salad - avocado, tomato, grilled corn, black beans, cucumber and romaine tossed with barbeque ranch dressing and topped with lots of crispy fried onion strings for crunch. (Mine ordered without the black beans!)

on Saturday, I skipped the salad and actually went to some bbQs instead. but I had a fruit salad? =D I managed to lose about five pounds during the week, but after attending bbQs during Memorial Day weekend I gained back 3 of them. Ah well.

a patient says to me, "oh, you got a tan?" i said, "yep." he says, "i can tell because you're starting to look like a filipino again."

...oh.

i have been quite BC.

I have been quite busy during my 5-day Memorial Day weekend with the kids and with friends, so I apologize for not posting everyday as I promised. On Saturday, the kids and I went to a "wedding party" and the pictures came out nicely, so I just wanted to share a few.

congratulations to Phil & Ali. =]

Medieval Times !!

A guy pulled up next to me while I was driving home. He looked at me and took his sunglasses off to say, "What the heck?!" I said, "Medieval Times, man!" Then he replied, "That is awesome!!" Haha. Ohhh yesss. =]

Just weight and see.

I've never been one to exercise nor diet. I love to eat, especially junk food. The closest I get to working out is playing some sport like tennis or snowboarding. But I'm not passionate enough to get really into it. I'm mediocre at sports or I'm just horrible at them. I've also tried running.. I'm not a runner, I simply don't have the lungs for it. I pant when walking up my flight of stairs in my house - and I've never even smoked! Ever! So the past few months I've managed to get into a routine of running pretty consistently - though I don't run far at all, I'm still trying! I believe this is the longest I've ever stuck to it so far because I keep getting into it then out of it. I'm not overweight, but there are some parts of my body I could work on and I'd like to lose several pounds - for me. Plus with the way I eat (junk food every single day, just about every meal), my health must be horrible. So running is the LEAST I could do. But this week I seem to have fallen out of the routine again. I need motivation. In the meantime, I have decided to eat better.. sort of. I have decided to try to eat a salad every day this week. The salad can be followed by a pound of deep-fried lard with bacon and a side of chili cheesefries, just as long as I have a salad. =D

So far these have been my daily salad choices so far because I know you care (I'll leave out what else I've eaten this week =P):

Sunday: T.G.I.Friday's Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad - A crunchy pecan-crusted chicken breast comes warm and sliced atop crispy Romaine lettuce in a Balsamic Vinaigrette. Garnished with Mandarin oranges, dried cranberries glazed pecans, celery and Bleu cheese. (I ate it sans the Bleu cheese - Yuck!)
Monday: Panera's Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad - All-natural pepper-mustard chicken, romaine lettuce, Asiago-Parmesan cheese, homemade Asiago Cheese croutons & our special Caesar dressing.

Where to next?

Pig Bone.

I'm not done posting my pictures from my Hong Kong/Beijing/Guangzhou/etc. trip! So it's my first time at a hot pot restaurant in Hong Kong, someone puts this huge pig bone on my plate. I'm staring at it wondering if they were just using my plate as the "garbage plate." But no, they were looking at me expecting me to eat it and tell them what I thought of it.

so..... how does one even go about eating this thing if there's barely any meat on the bone?

Here's a hint: They give you a straw.

That's right! You drink from it!
Cheers to drinking the bone marrow!
Which, to be quite honest, wasn't bad at all.

Current thoughts.

What kind of life are we living in where a 3 year old boy needs permission to see his own mother? What kind of life are we living in where kids have to ask permission from the state to see their own mother on her birthday? What kind of life are we living in where you're not even allowed to speak to your father on the phone or receive gifts from him because major life-changing consequences would occur? What kind of life are we living in where an aunt doesn't even know the name of her one month old niece? What kind of life are these kids living?

We're living a life where sisters become strangers, fathers become strangers, and mothers.. are literally taken away from your daily, even weekly and sometimes monthly, routine. A life where love is put to the test time and time again, along with patience and tolerance. But still I have to ask.. what kind of life is this?

Pooding.

Currently eating...

Mother's Day.

First and foremost.. Happy Mother's Day (and any pseudo-Mom's, i.e. myself) out there! As for me, after my parents and I went to NY for dim sum with the kids and the rest of the family.. my dad and I went to a spa and got a facial that lasted about 2 hours. My mom stayed at my grandmother's while plaing Mahjong with the other mothers - my two aunts and my grandmother. 'Twas a good Mother's Day after all. =D

Oh Poop.

Bird pooped at my 12 o'clock. WhaCk.
